Recycling Pick-ups

Recyclable items are picked up at the curb once a week on Wednesday. Weekly pick-ups alternate between newspaper and cardboard, and commingled recyclables. Please check the Borough's calendar to find out which pick-up is scheduled for the current week. Guidelines regarding which items are recyclable can be found in the sidebar.

Please note: Recycling bundles or receptacles must be placed at the curb after 5 p.m. on the day prior to regular collection and must be removed before 7:00 p.m. on the day of the collection, in accordance with Borough Code Chapter 190-6 ("Property Maintenance"). No more than five containers weighing a maximum of 60 lbs. each will be picked up on any collection day.

What Can I Recycle?

Commingled refers to a mixture of glass, plastic, and metal items that can be recycled together. These may include glass bottles and jars (all colors), aluminum cans, aluminum foil, tin cans, steel cans, and plastic containers. Items should be rinsed, put in a container or bin, and placed at the curb.

Paper and cardboard recyclables may include boxes, paper bags, books, magazines, and newspapers. These should be bundled together and place curbside for pick-up. Do not include trash, food, packing materials, or garbage with cardboard recyclables.

Please note: Recyclables should be placed curbside in secure bundles or receptacles. They should not be put in plastic bags.
