The Health Department oversees a wide range of initiatives, from wellness programs for children and senior citizens to inspecting businesses for sanitation and food handling, issuing pet licenses, and managing rodent control for the Borough. Also included within this department is the Registrar of Vital Statistics, who issues marriage licenses; burial permits; and birth, death and marriage transcripts.
The Borough of Oradell requires all dogs and cats to be licensed when they reach the age of six months. Licenses must be renewed by March 1st of each year.
Free rabies inoculations are available. Call 201-261-8106 to receive a voucher, The Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus must be used.
The department's foundation is the Board of Health, which consists of seven citizen members who meet monthly to review the Health Department's activities of the previous month.
